CAF announces date for 2024 African Nations Championship 


The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) would commence on February 1, and end on February 28, next year. 

The decision was made after the football body held a one-day meeting in Nairobi, Kenya on Monday, 16th September 2024. 

The committee also announced that the first round of qualifiers would be played on the weekend of 25th to 27th October 2024.

The competition would be staged in East Africa with CAF yet to communicate in due course venues to be used for the competition.

Senegal is the current champions of CHAN after they defeated hosts, Algeria two years ago in Algiers.
