FECAFOOT mourns death of former president


Former FECAFOOT president Albert Etotoke Epoune, was announced dead on January 1, 2024, after prolonged health complications.

He passed at the Douala Regional Hospital, leaving a void which sports personalities have said ‘can never be filled’.

The 84-year-old sports veteran led the Cameroon delegation that reached the quarter-finals at the 1990 World Cup in Italy. The Indomitable Lions became the first team to reach the stage.

The Cameroon Football Federation while announcing the Yakalak chief’s death, noted that he was ‘a very calm but efficient man’.

He was president of the federation from 1989 to 1990.
