More youths are joining NPP – North Tongu DCE

Mr Divine Osborne Fenu, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Tongu, has expressed joy over the increasing number of Voltarians, particularly youth, joining the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Battor, Mr Fenu attributed the significant shift in the district’s political landscape to the massive development initiatives rendered by the government.

The DCE recalled that it was challenging for NPP supporters to openly declare their affiliation some 10 years past.

‘The narrative has changed. The various development projects in the district have contributed to the party’s growing popularity,’ he explained.

He said the NPP could now boast of more than one thousand new members in North Tongu this year.

Mr Fenu said the NPP had supported the district with many initiatives, including pipe-borne water projects introduced by former President John Agyekum Kufuor and recent projects under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s regime, which included the r
enovated Battor market and new district courts.

He stated that farmers in the district were beneficiaries of the government’s planting for food and jobs.

‘Our children are no longer on the streets because of the Free SHS policy. Just look at the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) the government has also put in place,’ he added.

Mr Fenu urged families, groups, and young people in the district to embrace the NPP and vote for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Dr John Savior Eleblu and its Presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 polls.

Per the election history of the Volta Region, the NPP’s votes have increased in each general election since 2012.
