The National Land Coordination Authority on a Mission to Secure Industrial Sites in Guiriko

Guiriko: The National Land Coordination Authority (ANCF) conducted a prospecting mission in the Guiriko region on Tuesday to identify and secure areas intended for the establishment of industrial units. Led by the Director of Operations, Boromo Traore, the delegation met with regional and local authorities before visiting the planned industrial sites.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the mission began with an audience at the governor’s office with Governor Mariama Konate/Gnanou, who reiterated the importance of protecting land intended for industrial projects to strengthen Bobo-Dioulasso’s economic role. “Bobo-Dioulasso is synonymous with economic and industrial city. It is therefore essential that the areas planned for industrial developments be secured. The support of the ANCF is crucial to support our actions,” she emphasized.

ANCF Director of Operations, Boromo Traore, explained that this initiative is part of the vision of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who places industrialization at the heart of his governance. Since the meeting of June 14, 2025, in Manga with the active forces, technical structures have been instructed to create industrial zones in all regions. The ANCF, attached to the Presidency, supervises these services to ensure the implementation of this vision, he specified.

The mission then went to the field, accompanied by the PDS of district 04, Balemany Serissouma, and the Regional Director of Urban Planning and Housing of Guiriko, Yaya Ouattara. The localities of Borodougou and Tondogosso were visited. In these areas, an industrial site covering an area of 27 hectares was identified. “We have found that this site is heavily colonized. We will report to the authorities and decisions will be made,” said ANCF Director of Operations Boromo Traore.

Regional Director of Urban Planning and Housing Yaya Ouattara indicated that any industrial project must respect the zones defined in the Master Plan for Development and Urban Planning. A 2021 ministerial note prohibits the issuance of favorable opinions for sites already planned, he said.

The ANCF’s mission will continue in Orodara, Banfora, Niangoloko, and Gaoua, with the same objective: to secure industrial zones to create an environment conducive to industrialization and support national economic dynamics.
