Climate Special Envoy participates in MEFED conference

Amman, The Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah participated in the “Mena Europe Future Energy Dialogue MEFED” conference.

The participation came on behalf of His Majesty’s Personal Representative, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The meeting was hosted under the patronage of His Majesty Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of Jordan, with the aim to strengthen cooperation between countries in the field of sustainable energy.

The special envoy highlighted that the conference represent the best aspects of cooperation to face challenges in preserving the environment and climate change and achieving sustainable development goals

Dr. Bin Dainah praised Jordan’s prominent role in promoting rapprochement and cooperation between the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, especially in light of the environmental and climatic challenges facing the world and requiring international solidarity for a future that enjoys a healthy and sustainable environment.

He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Jordan and the participating countries, to preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development.

He attended the signing ceremony of the declaration issued by the participating countries, which included raising climate protection ambitions in the MENA, road maps for regional and continental linkage of energy markets, and agreement on specific bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects towards the transition to clean energy.
