A total of 14 health workers have been selected to vie for the prestigious 2024 Miss Health Ghana crown.
With more than 100 auditioning for a place in the finals, contestants demonstrated their understanding of the theme of this year’s pageant, ‘Health Through Innovation for a Healthier and Sustainable Future’.
After a successful audition, 14 ladies were selected to compete for the crown on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Some contestants are Codjie Maud Sena (Nursing Student), Jacqueline Fosu (Nursing Student), Esther Cachana (Licensed Radiographer), Ruth Ndichafah (Medical Student), Melissa Abena Asare (Midwife), and Nyarko Ohenewaa (Registered Midwife).
Others who made the final shortlist are Victoria Ofori (Health Staff), Ofosu Magdalene (Staff Midwife), Marilyn Owusu (Medical Laboratory student), Demelle Knight-Tay (Student), and Eno Gyamfua, CEO of Hello Period.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Accra, Ms. Gladys Akyere Rockson, Chief Executive Officer of Lamrock Agency, the organisers of the page
ant, congratulated the contestants for making it to the next stage of the competition.
‘The line-up looks very strong, and I expect some tough competition among them, and patrons would be educated and new perspectives will be shared on how to technologically revolutionise our health system,’ she said.
Stressing the importance of this year’s theme, Ms. Akyere Rockson emphasised the need to promote innovations in health delivery while promoting sustainable health practices.
She also added that they would contribute to the renovation of Ashaiman PolyClinic as well as staging numerous health screenings across the country.
Before the grand finale, there would be a breast cancer awareness program with the Academic City University, where the 14 contestants would be education and screening students.
The road to crowning a new Miss Health Ghana promises some thrilling events as contestants prepare for another memorable night at the Marriott Hotel come November 2, 2024.
