The party’s IX Extraordinary Provincial Conference held this Wednesday in the city of Cabinda, elected Suzana de Abreu to the position of first provincial secretary of the MPLA in this northernmost region of the country.
Elected with 99.2 percent of the votes, Suzana de Abreu replaces Mara Quiosa (current governor of Cuanza-sul), who led the Comrades’ Party in Cabinda for two years.
In her first speech, the new first provincial secretary of the MPLA advocated combining efforts to take the party to the desired levels.
According to the new leader, the current situation requires activists to get closer to the communities, listening to their main concerns so that they can be gradually addressed.
In turn, the coordinator of the monitoring group of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the MPLA in the province of Cabinda, Pedro Neto, called for unity among party militants in the region to achieve the proposed goals.
Suzana de Abreu is the current governor of the province of Cabinda.
